Dear HCE Families,
The Hickory Creek PTO board members would like to welcome you and your family to the 2011-2012 school year. We are looking forward to a year filled with fun activities that will enrich the education of our children and bring us together as a community.
Goals and Membership
The PTO consists of parents and teachers working together to provide funds, programs and resources that help expand the educational experiences of our students. Our goals this year are to offer more enrichment activities, support our educational staff, build a stronger school community and provide funding for items no longer covered by the school budget. By becoming a member of the PTO, your support enables us to meet these goals.
Programs and Events
We will provide funding for Helping Hands, teacher supplies, 25 book reading challenge, family fun nights, art show and ice cream social, teacher appreciation luncheons and many other activities. Here is a list of some of the fundraising events we have planned for this year:

- Art to Remember
- Book Fairs
- Boosterthon Fun Run
- Chili Cook Off
- FCAT proctors
- FCAT Writes proctors
Parent involvement is essential as we coordinate the many in-school activities, fun nights and fundraising events for our school’s community. During the year, we hope you find an activity that interests you.
This school year we will have a fundraiser opt-out option for families to join the PTO with a contribution of $65. If you choose this option, you will not receive any fundraising marketing material, except for Art to Remember. Membership fees are one fee per family. Both options include a student directory.

- Log on to the HCE school website at http://www-hce.stjohns.k12.fl.us/ and click on PTO.
- Fill out the enclosed form and send in a check made payable to HCE PTO. Please return both in a PTO marked envelope to the front office or your child’s class. Thank you for your support.
